This section was used to tell a story about a poor man who goes into the Brazilian jungle to borrow the snake’s tantalizing stare, the lion’s stripes, and the pretty beak of the toucan. The background imagery was originally drawn using pastel sticks on paper, with each animal drawn by ink and brush.
